WhatsApp Introducing AI-Powered Stickers, Images and Chatbot Feature for Users

WhatsApp will get a taste of Generative AI in the coming months as Meta confirmed some new features coming to the messaging app. The company’s rapid transition from metaverse to artificial intelligence is understandable, and billions of WhatsApp users will see this change. Generative AI for users basically looks at the features of an AI chatbot that helps you with surveys, creates WhatsApp stickers with AI prompts and similarly makes images with AI technology. Meta claims that these AI tools can help you be more creative, expressive and productive. It also ensures that all AI data is protected with end-to-end encryption.

What these new AI tools will bring to WhatsApp users, here are the details.

AI stickers

Meta uses its Llama 2 language model to create an imaging model called Emu. The company says this template can turn WhatsApp text prompts into high-quality stickers. The feature will roll out to select English users over the next month on WhatsApp and other Meta apps. All you have to do is go to the GIF corner of WhatsApp and click the Create button to create an AI sticker of your choice.

Create images with artificial intelligence

Just like you can create stickers with AI, WhatsApp also lets you create AI-generated images. You need to send a text message with the prompt @ Meta AI/imagine and then type your request to let the AI model do its magic. You don’t need to enable any special settings to use this AI feature.

AI Chatbot on WhatsApp

AI integration would be incomplete with an AI chatbot, and Meta is also bringing the technology to WhatsApp. As we have seen with other chatbots in the market, the Meta AI chatbot summarizes gift ideas for users and or any specific query they want to answer. Meta AI has access to real-time data through our search partnership with Bing and provides a tool to generate images, the company explained. WhatsApp users need to send a text message @ meta AI and then enter their query for the AI chatbot to respond.
